Joseph Willet: FDM Printing, Mold Making and Ceramics
Using a Grasshopper definition that I created to generate seemingly infinite faceted cylindrical forms I modeled a faceted dinnerware set.
From these models I created prototypes and scale models using Pepakura to test scale and proportion.
Once forms were determined I proceeded to FDM print my forms, to which I would later cast in plaster to pull slip-cast ceramic forms. However, before slip casting I coated the FDM forms using automobile paint to create a better and more easily removed form.
